Located on Westow Hill in London, 56 WESTOW has quickly captured the hearts (and palates) of locals and visitors alike. The restaurant provides a warm welcome that extends from arrival to farewell, as noted in a review by Tamara Bumpdeeay. She praised their expertly crafted cocktails, particularly the dirty vodka martini, and highlighted the stellar steak and chips, calling the latter “THE CHIPS!” for their impeccable seasoning.
Food reviewer Joanna Jackson-Brown also lauds the culinary offerings, mentioning the unforgettable meatballs and lamb that rivals some of the best she’s ever had. Furthermore, dishes like the chicken wrapped in crisped Serrano ham, as described by Heather Markel, showcase the menu's creativity and colorful presentation.
56 WESTOW stands out for not only its delicious fare but also for its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. With dogs welcome and the décor charming, it creates an ideal dining experience. However, the standout moments are undeniably the unique flavors and generous portions, from the creamy burnt Basque cheesecake to the flavorful roast meals expertly executed by the kitchen. This restaurant effortlessly combines great food and warm hospitality—truly a dining gem in the heart of London.

I cannot fault this restaurant. From the welcome on arrival to the goodbye on our leaving, everything was perfect. It is difficult to find places that actually mix cocktails themselves now so my dirty vodka martini was a delight. We ate steak and chips. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned and tasted fantastic. The chips - THE CHIPS! Good grief. Seasoned perfectly. The side salad was simple but generous. It was so lovely that I actually cried a bit. (Think I need to check my HRT dosage). Dessert for me was the Burnt Basque Cheese cake. An easy dish to get wrong, but not here. Paired with a delicious port it rounded off the meal beautifully. It was a perfect meal. So perfect that I momentarily wondered if it was real. Is anything real. When was the last time you had a meal that made you question reality?

Amazing restaurant! Very friendly and dog friendly. Loved seeing all the dogs well taken care of. The food was fantastic. I ate a chicken wrapped with crisped Serrano ham, lentils kale and Labneh. Perfect size. Delicious. Colorful. The staff are super friendly. Very pleasant environment.

Dined here tonight with one of my good friends and feel compelled to write a review as the food was amazing. I had the meatballs and my friend had the lamb, the flavours were on par with the best I've ever tasted and portions sizes great, cocktails were beautiful too. I wouldn't hesitate to return at all and can't wait to bring my husband here. Was sad when I heard Joanna's had closed down but this place is a welcome addition! It's perfection.

Wonderful roast meal on a new year day and dare I say this was my best roast yet! I went for a full-size roast chicken and my partner had a half-portion of beef and a side of apricot & pistachio stuffing with cranberry sauce. The portion was generous and well balanced. The chicken was well cooked and seasoned - skin nice and crispy. The breast part wasn't dry and the leg part was indeed tender and juicy. The gravy has good flavour, not too bland or too salty or greasy. The trimmings were amazing and flavourful. Greens with garlic still had their crunch which I loved. Big fat multi colour carrots were also nice and crunchy. Good roast potatoes. The highlight for me was mashed parsnip. Creamy and delicious!! Apricot & pistachio was utterly delicious. It came in good portion (as in not too big). It was warm and comforting. The consistency was almost cake-like with a well balance of savoury-ness, sweetness from apricot, and sharpness of cranberry sauce cutting through. Lovely homemade sauce that we also asked for extra on the side which added to our roast meal when it started to feel heavy mid meal (if you know what I mean). I left 4 stars for food mainly for the beef that seemed to be on a chewier side for our liking. It didn't taste of a whole lot compare to chicken. We aren't a beef fan (or eating lots of meat for that matter), but order differently to try, so take my review for a grain of salt. If having a roast meal next time, we probably go for chicken or fish instead. Inside the restaurant was cosy and nicely decorated. Very good atmosphere. The price is good value. The staff are all friendly and kind. I'm pleased we had our lunch here. Also very happy to discover another good place for a meal out in the area.

The food is absolutely divine. Unique tastes. We weren't sure what to get so I got a couple of small plates, i can recommend the tiget prawns.(get something to mop yhe sauce up with), and my partner got the sausage which was a massive plate. The portions are not small. The rum was tasty. We also had puddings. Can highly recommend the cheesecake. We topped it off with a white port. The service was a little hit and miss but all the employees were absolutely lovely, just a little disorganised. I can highly recommend this place. The decor is also lovely and toilets are very clearly.

The food was excellent, and the newly opened garden area in the back is a delightful addition. They offer a lovely selection of wine and dishes, and their Saturday sandwiches come highly recommended.

We have just been to 56 Westow for the first time today to celebrate Father’s Day and we were absolutely delighted with our visit! From the first communication with the reservation the service is fantastic. A team that you can tell actually care about what they do. They are attentive, kind and just very pleasant! Jason was particularly lovely! The ambience was just right with lovely upbeat music that was cheerful for the occasion. The decor is a tweak on the old Joanna’s style which is familiar yet new to mirror the change in restaurant which is so welcome to the triangle! We both had a roast, a porcetta and a lamb... both so delicious! The vegetables are fresh and full of flavour and not just an after thought. Roast potatoes were so good! Not overcooked and reheated like most places! The sides of leeks and cauliflower cheese were wonderful additions! I would recommend these even though the roasts are massive but yes, the extra sides are naughty and just delish! The Donut with honeycomb and the brownie sundae are decadent and utterly indulgent and a wonderful way to finish such a lovely meal! Thank you to all involved in making today so special. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. I really hope this place is a huge success. Just what Crystal Palace has been missing.

Second visit after some excellent tapas. Sunday roast did not disappoint, great food, great service. Can highly recommend the Porchetta Roast, but others in our group had the beef, one had whole shebang and another the Sea Bream, all were excellent.
